Due to their brilliant colors, dottybacks are great eye-catchers in saltwater aquariums. Most species remain relatively small and can already be kept in tanks starting from 150 liter. Dottybacks are vivid swimmers who like retreats like crevices and caves in the reefscape. Nevertheless, you will often see these beautiful animals, because they are surprisingly curious and watch all the events in and around the reef tank. All dottybacks are 100% aquacultured and quarantined.
Solitary keeping can lead to territorial behaviour towards other reef tank inhabitants. To maintain the peaceful community of your fish stock, you should always keep Dottybacks in pairs or in a harem. An exception is the genus Manonichthys, which is best kept alone.
