Biological stability with zooplankton

The microfauna, consisting of amphipods, copepods & co, is an essential component in every ecosystem. From puddles to the ocean: microorganisms take on important functions and form a nutritious basis in the food web. By adding a combination of zoo and phytoplankton to your marine aquarium, you can quickly build up a robust microfauna population and achieve biological stability.

Apocylops panamensis

Apocylops panamensis is rich in amino acids and proteins and thus a high-quality food source for your reef inhabitants. Dragonets and pipefish in particular will love Apocyclops! Compared to other copepod species, Apocyclops reproduces relatively quickly (approx. every 4-6 days). While the juvenile stages live close to the bottom and eat leftover food, the adult copepods live in the open water and are not only available to fish but also to corals as food.
