Tropic Marin Pro-Tect contains organic colloids that strengthen the protective layer of gills and mucus membranes, thus protecting fish from infections and parasites.
Areas of application:
With a 500 liter aquarium and regular use, the 250 ml product size will last for about 5 weeks.
The function of the mucus membrane in fish
With the surface of the mucus membrane, the fish is in constant contact with its environment. It protects it from toxins, pathogens and parasites. The composition (bioactive substances, antimicrobial components) and texture (thickness, viscosity) of the mucosa is crucial for its reliable function. Handling stress, nutrient deficiencies, salinity fluctuations or toxic substances in the water can negatively alter mucus membrane production and composition, making fish more susceptible to disease. Tropic Marin Pro-Tect contains colloids that protect the sensitive mucus membranes and promote their regeneration.
Tropic Marin Pro-Tect - Tips for use
We recommend application immediately after acclimatisation of new fish and following medication treatments. For regular prophylaxis, dose 10 ml Pro-Tect per 100 litres of aquarium water weekly.
Positive side effects of Tropic Marin Pro-Tect
Besides the positive effect on the mucus membrane of fish, Pro-Tect optimises the water quality. Heavy metal ions are bound and neutralised, the pH value stabilised and skimming improved.
What else can I do to prevent the health of my fish?
Nutrition in particular plays a key role in fish health. Therefore, make sure you feed a varied and balanced diet. Only use high-quality feed and ensure a sufficient supply of vitamins. In addition, avoid all stress factors as much as possible: keep your stocking density low, pay attention to compatibility and plan retreats in the aquarium.
