TMC EcoSand - the sustainable alternative when it comes to substrate

Substrate in a reef aquarium - what do I need to consider?

For normal substrate coverage, a sand height of about 2 cm in the aquarium is completely sufficient. You will need about 20-25 kg of substrate for a 1 x 1 m area. Be sure to rinse the sand well before use! Note that the reef construction should stand directly on the bottom plate and not on sandy areas, as otherwise there is a risk of collapse later on.
