Alveopora corals

If you look closely at Alveopora corals, you will understand the synonym "flower animals" for corals very well. The small polyps look like tiny flowers. Alveopora is very similar in appearance to Goniopora, but differs in the number of tentacles. Alveopora corals have only 12 tentacles, half as many as Gonioporas.

Alveopora belong to the more demanding LPS corals

Within the LPS corals, Alveopora belong to the somewhat more demanding animals. Lighting and current should not be too strong. For a long-term successful keeping of Alveopora, an occasional feeding of phyto- and zooplankton is recommended.
