Chalice corals - strong colors even under fluctuating conditions

Echinopora, OxyporaEchinophylliaMycedium & Co fall under the collective term "Chalice". They belong to the LPS-corals and grow plate-shaped. They can also develop upright tubes. Chalice corals can have a variety of different color combinations that can be seen under blue light. The colors rarely change, even under fluctuating water conditions.

Be careful with too much light and long tentacles

Chalice corals can handle fluctuating light conditions but feel most comfortable with low to moderate light. The current must be strong enough to prevent sedimentation from gathering on the coral's surface but not too strong. Watch out for long tentacles! We recommend a safety distance from at least 10 cm to the next coral.

Feeding Chalice corals?

Direct feeding is not necessary but Chalice corals will grow better if you feed them occasionally with dry or frozen food. The ideal time to feed your corals is during the evening or night hours.
