Amino acids for an efficient nitrogen supply to your corals.

Ideal for:

  • Aquariums with low nitrogen input (e.g. with low fish stock)
  • Aquariums with slightly elevated phosphate
  • improved food intake in corals

Content: 250 ml

More Information

Amino-Organic contains minerals and amino acids in dissolved form. These organic compounds are rich in nitrogen and are immediately available to corals when added to the aquarium. Amino acids also trigger a feeding stimulus and ensure that coral polyps open wide.

Adding amino acids to a saltwater aquarium - why?

Amino acids are one of the basic building blocks of all living things. Some amino acids are essential, which means they must be actively absorbed through food. Organisms cannot store amino acids as such. Regular intake is therefore very important. A deficiency leads to tissue breakdown. Corals that are regularly supplied with amino acids have a beautiful polyp appearance and very strong tissue.

Amino acids as food stimulus for corals

The use of Amino-Organic is ideal in combination with particulate coral food, because the amino acids it contains act as a chemical signal and ensure that coral polyps open wide. Food particles can then be absorbed better. Start adding food about 10 minutes after dosing the amino acids so that the corals have enough time to react.

When does the addition of amino acids not make sense?

Since bacteria and single-celled organisms, as well as corals, can also absorb dissolved amino acids very well, adding Amino-Organic makes no sense if there is an existing problem with cyanobacteria and/or dinoflagellates. On the contrary, adding it could even encourage further spread. Furthermore, adding Amino-Organic is not advisable if the phosphate levels are very low (<0.03 mg/l), as the compounds contain carbon residues, which in turn lead to a reduction in nutrients. If your aquarium is still in the running-in phase or if you do not have a skimmer, you could provoke a bacterial bloom by adding it. In these cases, do not add the dosage.

The use of Amino-Organic is recommended and very safe in aquariums with slightly elevated phosphate levels and a dense coral population.

Application and dosage of Amino-Organic

Add a maximum of 5 ml of Amino-Organic per 200 litres of aquarium water daily.
