What does WYSIWYG mean?

WYSIWYG is the abbreviation for W hat Y ou S ee I s W hat Y ou G et, which means: What you see is what you get. Coral frags of the same species can sometimes differ greatly in shape and color. The WYSIWYG principle avoids this problem. The animals that are marked with WYSIWYG in our shop are photographed individually by us and uploaded to the shop as a unique "product". So you can be sure that you will get exactly the coral or shell delivered to your home that you see in the picture on your display.

Do the corals look like the photo?

We present the corals in the shop as we see them with our own eyes here on site. We also show each animal under different lighting settings (blue light and daylight) in order to give you the best possible color impression. We photograph our corals under LED lighting (EcoTech Marine Radion G4 Pro). We use a professional camera system (Lumix GH5) with a macro lens (Leica DG 45 mm f 2.8 or Samyang 100 mm f 2.8) for the shots. We do not do any further image editing. Please note that there may still be small deviations between our product images and your personal color impressions. This is due, for example, to the type of lighting used (T5, LED, HQI, etc.), the selected light setting and the color reproduction of your display.

How large are the coral fragments?

You can easily determine the size of the coral frags using the light grid plate on which our frags are placed. One square of the grid plate measures 1.6 x 1.6 cm. The corals usually sit on small (diameter 2 cm) or large (diameter 3 cm) frag plugs.

When are there shop updates and how do I find out about them?

We put new corals in the shop at regular intervals. We don't have a fix shop-update routine, but we inform anyone who is interested about the shop updates via our newsletter and Instagram accounts. To make sure you don't miss anything, it's best to sign up for the newsletter now :)

Are the corals freshly glued?

No, none of our corals intended for sale are shipped freshly glued. We give our own frags enough time to recover after fragmentation. You can recognize this, for example, by the formation of a basal disc (= the beginning of the overgrowth of the frag plug with coral tissue) or the coverage of our frag plugs with coralline algae.

Why are there different prices even though it is the same species?

In addition to the species, there are other factors that determine the price. These are mainly the color, the size and the growth form. This is why different prices can be shown for one and the same species.

ORDER
Why do I have to provide my phone number when ordering live animals?

Your telephone number is only required to ensure that the live animal shipment runs smoothly. If the courier service has difficulty finding you, they will try to contact you by telephone. Therefore, you should always have your telephone to hand on the day of delivery.

Can I reserve animals for a longer period of time before they are shipped to me?

We usually reserve the animals for you for 14 days after receiving your order. Your desired delivery date should therefore be chosen within this time. Please contact us if you would like or need a longer reservation period.

Why is there a shipping fee graduation?

If the order value of a live animal is less than €100, we calculate an additional €10 for shipping. This is due to the fact that a considerable amount of packaging is required for safe and, above all, thermostable animal shipping. We ask for your understanding that we therefore have to set a shipping graduation for animal orders. However, for orders above a certain value, we also cover the shipping costs in full (e.g. from €199 for delivery addresses within Germany).

How does an order work?

As in any other online shop, you can browse through the range at Coralaxy from the comfort of your own home. If you like something and would like to buy it, put it in your "shopping cart". You can then simply continue shopping. Subsequent changes to the shopping cart are possible at any time. To complete your order, go to "Checkout". During the subsequent ordering process, you will be asked to provide information about your delivery address, your desired delivery date and your preferred payment method. Finally, all order data will be displayed again on the order overview page. Before submitting the order, you have the opportunity to check all the information again, change it (also using the "back" function of the Internet browser) or cancel the purchase. Only when you use the "Buy" button will the selected items be ordered and paid for.

Please note that the animals you have ordered must be prepared for shipping by us after payment has been received and the delivery date has been agreed. Orders should therefore be placed 1 day before the desired shipping date. After ordering, you will receive an order confirmation by email with the delivery or collection date (if you select self-collection). Please check the delivery address again at this point. Have you noticed an error or would you like to change the delivery address later? Then please let us know by phone (0381-66098171)! Requests for changes by email may not be implemented in time.

We carefully and professionally package all animals and then hand them over to our shipping partner GO! or UPS. The order will be delivered to the shipping address within the next 24 hours. For the well-being of the animals, please be at the delivery address you have provided at the agreed time.

Can I add something to an existing order?

Within a certain period of time (usually up to 24 hours before the desired delivery date) Add-on-orders can be easily combined. Simply order
what you would like to add and select the shipping option in the order process
"Self-Pickup/Add-on-Order" and leave in the comment that the
order should be added to your other order. This way no
additional shipping costs are calculated and we ship everything together in one
package.

Can I also get an individual offer by phone or email?

Yes, that is also possible!

Do I have to register to order?

No, you do not need to register for a customer account to order from us. You can order as a guest at any time.

LIVE ANIMAL SHIPPING
Why is shipping live animals so expensive?

We ship with GO! Express within Germany and Austria and thus guarantee a safe delivery of live animals within 24 hours. We have already received offers from other shipping service providers with cheaper conditions, but reject.
We are very happy with our chosen service provider GO! Express and know that (compared to some cheaper shipping companies) the couriers are treated well there. We can deliver every single package within
minutes and reach the couriers - a service that we need from time to time and that we do not want to do without. We have our contract with the Rostock station, so the money stays in our
City/region and does not go anywhere else. We have many good reasons to stay with our service provider. 99.9% of the packages arrive on time and safely to our customers - a figure that we could not even come close to for other shipping service providers. We don´t intend to reduce shipping costs (or even "seem to" reduce them)
and make a mixed calculation with the coral prices), because that is
the price that a reliable animal shipping service can and should cost.

How long does it take for my order to arrive?

If no other deadline is specified in the product description, delivery will take place within 1-3 working days, and for international deliveries within 2-7 working days after order confirmation.

For live animal and express orders, you can select a desired delivery date within the next 14 days in the order form.

If you pay in advance by bank transfer, we will only ship after we have received your payment. Within the delivery period, the transport time for animals is a maximum of 24 hours.

Live animals are shipped on weekdays Monday to Friday. These weekdays must always be followed by a working day. This means delivery takes place Tuesday - Saturday. No shipping takes place on Sundays and public holidays.

Is delivery possible on Saturday or at a specific time?

Yes, Saturday delivery is also possible for addresses within Germany. Please note that this involves additional costs (+15 €). We can also organize a scheduled delivery (desired time +/- 30 min, + 15 €) for you - please contact us in this case.

Can I pick up my order?

Yes, you are welcome to pick up your order directly from us on working days Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. In this case, you even save on shipping costs. Simply order and pay for your animals as usual here in the online shop and tick the box for "Pick-Up" under "Shipping" during the ordering process. Please leave us your desired pick-up day and approximate time in the comments field. This way, we will have everything safely packed and ready for you to pick up.

CLAIM
The animals I ordered arrived damaged or dead. What happens now?

If, despite all the careful shipping preparations, an animal dies during transport, please document it immediately with photos. For photo documentation, the dead animals must be left in the sealed transport bag. Please send us any losses and photos within 24 hours of the animals' arrival by email to info@coralaxy.de. We will then get back to you as soon as possible and take care of it.

I don't like the animal anymore. Can I return it?

No. Please note that when shipping live animals and plants, the cancellation of the contract is excluded, as these are not suitable for return due to their nature (§ 312 g Paragraph 2 No. 2 BGB)! The right of cancellation applies to all other goods in our shop.

SERVICE
How do I add corals and fish to my aquarium?

Corals (except anemones) can be placed in your aquarium immediately and without adjusting the water parameters. Anemones, mussels and invertebrates are gently and slowly transferred to the aquarium using the dripping method. For fish, adjusting the temperature before quickly transferring them is sufficient. You can find detailed instructions in our Acclimation Guide.

Will the colors of the corals stay as they are?

Unfortunately, no reputable retailer can guarantee this 100%. The coloration of corals depends primarily on the environmental conditions and can certainly change. The type and intensity of the lighting used, the availability of nutrients and the overall concentration of certain elements play an important role in the development and maintenance of the colors. But that is precisely what makes coral care so exciting! Since you have chosen corals from aquaculture, there is a good chance that the colors will be preserved, as the (environmental) conditions in our facility already largely correspond to those of your aquarium. But you might even manage to tease out a little more color from the corals.

Can I visit your store?

Unfortunately not. We concentrate fully on farming corals, shrimps, etc. and selling online. We do not currently operate a traditional shop, but an aquaculture company with high safety and hygiene standards. We currently do not have the space to receive visitors - which does not mean that this could not change in the future. Please understand that it is currently not possible to visit us. Nevertheless, exchange with our customers is very important to us. If you wish an advice, you can contact us at any time using the contact form.
