Crust-like growing LPS coral in bright neon green. Prefers locations in the lower part of the reef structure and can grow wonderfully over stones or other structures. Also suitable for beginners. Grows relatively slowly.

We generally show the coral frags under different
light settings:

  • Top view blue light - 20,000 K
  • Top view daylight - 12,000 K
  • Reef tank shot without filter
  • Reef tank shot with orange filter (= filter shot)
  • Variation of frags
  • optional: picture of the broodstock

When taking a filter shot, we deliberately choose not to use too much blue light in order to display the colors as naturally as possible and as one would perceive them without filter glasses. Please note that deviations can still occur due to certain display and lighting settings and subjective perception.

In terms of size, you can use the light grid plate to help you: one square is 1.6 x 1.6 cm. Our frag plugs measure 2 or 3 cm in diameter.

Cyphastrea corals – LPS or SPS?

Cyphastrea are classified as large-polyp stony corals (LPS corals) and come in a wide variety of different colors. With one exception , Cyphastrea grow in a crust-like manner - only Cyphastrea decadia is different with its branched growth. Although they are generally very well suited for keeping in saltwater aquariums, these corals are not nearly as popular in aquariums as many other species and are more of a pet.

Keeping Cyphastrea

Cyphastrea corals cope very well with moderate currents and little light. Therefore, place this coral in the low-light zone of your aquarium. As long as you keep this in mind, you will have a lot of fun with the coral. Cyphastrea are extremely robust creatures.
