This coral package contains a colorful mix of simple SPS corals.

It includes 4 offshoots of the speciesPsammocora sp.'Monster Jam',Seriatopora caliendrum'Green Bird's Nest',Montipora'Red Cap' andStylophora pistillata'Milka'.

You get the set 20% cheaper than buying it individually.

We generally show the coral frags under different
light settings:

  • Top view blue light - 20,000 K
  • Top view daylight - 12,000 K
  • Reef tank shots with orange filter (= filter shot) of the individual animals in the pack

When taking a filter shot, we deliberately choose not to use too much blue light in order to display the colors as naturally as possible and as one would perceive them without filter glasses. Please note that deviations can still occur due to certain display and lighting settings and subjective perception.

In terms of size, you can use the light grid plate to help you: one square is 1.6 x 1.6 cm. Our frag plugs measure 2 or 3 cm in diameter.

SPS corals for beginners

For many marine aquarists, they are the epitome of modern reef aquarism - colorful SPS corals. SPS is the English abbreviation for Small - Polyped Stone Corals. They are considered to be demanding animals, but there are also some species that are less sensitive and make it easier for you to get started. Seriatopora , Pocillopora and Stylophora can cope with moderate lighting intensities and are more forgiving of fluctuations in water values than, for example, Acropora corals.

Keeping and positioning SPS corals in the aquarium

Place your SPS corals in the upper half of your reef structure. Make sure that the corals are protected from sediment deposits and receive sufficient current. Stylophora can also tolerate very strong currents. You can remove the offshoot stone to which the corals are attached or cut off the stem with pliers. It is best to use coral glue to position the coral so that it is firmly attached to the stone. Keep an eye on the alkalinity (KH) and phosphate values in particular and avoid major fluctuations in water quality. In this way, nothing stands in the way of successfully keeping SPS corals.
