The original in classic orange.

Particularly popular in marine aquariums and one of the most peaceful anemone fish ever.

Amphiprion ocellarisis perfect for keeping in an aquarium. Its bright and trusting behavior pleases both large and small aquarists. Anemone fish are not picky and readily accept all forms of frozen and dry food. In any case,Amphiprion ocellarisLive in your tank and it is a lot of fun to care for these fish!

Amphiprion ocellaris – a marine fish for aquariums from 150 liters

Due to their natural lifestyle in close symbiosis with anemones, clownfish are used to having little space to swim. Due to this predominantly stationary lifestyle , Amphiprion ocellaris can be easily kept in saltwater aquariums of 150 liters or more.

Clownfish and anemone – optional, but not a must

The anemone fish feels particularly comfortable with a steady partner at its side and a safe place to retreat to. This can be, for example, a symbiotic anemone ( Stychodactyla gigantea , S. mertensi , Heteractis magnifica ) or an anemone substitute such as the Euphyllia coral, Rhodactis disc anemone or Sarcophyton soft coral. Our offspring also happily snuggle up in (substitute) anemones, but are not necessarily dependent on them.

Pair formation in clownfish

Anemonefish are so-called protandric hermaphrodites, which means that all clownfish are initially male and only the largest animal in the pair or group develops into a female. This makes pairing very easy, because you can either put two clownfish of different sizes together or you can simply wait until one of them grows into the larger animal, and thus into the female.

Amphiprion ocellaris is one of the most peaceful anemone fish

Keeping them together with other fish species is no problem. The only exception is other clownfish. Although Amphiprion ocellaris is one of the most peaceful anemone fish, keeping a second pair of clownfish in the same saltwater aquarium should only be considered if the aquarium is at least 500 liters in size.
