Small algae-eating snail and important team member in the cleaning crew of a saltwater aquarium.

Bred from our facility. With a bit of luck, it will also reproduce in your aquarium.

The snails are between 0.5 and 1.5 cm in size.

The Turbo bruneus , also known as the brown turbo snail, is a robust and ornamental sea snail from the Turbinidae family. This snail is particularly appreciated by aquarium enthusiasts because it is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Turbo bruneus has a characteristic thick-walled, spirally wound shell that shimmers in various shades of brown and beige. The shell is often decorated with fine patterns, stripes or spots that give it a natural, yet striking appearance. The snail can reach a size of up to 5 cm.

A special feature of this species is the strong operculum, also called "lid", with which the snail can retract and close its body in the shell. This feature protects it from predators and dehydration, making it a resilient inhabitant in the aquarium.

Turbo bruneus is known for its ability to remove algae from rocks, glass and other surfaces, making it a valuable member of the cleaning team in saltwater aquariums. It is peaceful and socializes well with other fish and invertebrates. Its use in the aquarium not only helps control algae, but also gives the underwater landscape a natural and attractive appearance.
