Light & Flow
Sarcophyton loves both! Bright lighting encourages healthy growth and color, while moderate to strong flow helps clear debris and lets those polyps sway beautifully in the current.

Nutrients & Water Conditions
Toadstools are easy-going: Moderate to high nutrient levels (nitrate and phosphate) are usually no problem – they often thrive in less pristine systems.
Exception: Bright yellow or neon-colored variants need high-intensity lighting and prefer lower nutrient levels.

Shedding? Totally normal.
Sarcophyton regularly sheds its outer tissue layer to rid itself of algae and detritus. During this phase, it might stay closed for a few days. No worries – just ensure good water flow and consider iodine supplementation to support the process.

Placement in the Aquarium

Sarcophyton thrives in mid-to-upper tank zones. Give it some space – that cap can get BIG! For best results:

• Provide bright lighting

• Ensure solid, indirect water flow

• Keep distance from sensitive neighbors, as it can release mild allelopathic compounds
