Sea salt for reef aquariums
EXPRESS OR STANDARD SHIPPING
The sea salt that we use in our coral breeding facility.
Value ranges
We have a current ICP made for each batch in order to check the values on the one hand and to be able to indicate them precisely on the inside of the lid on the other.
The values are in the following range:
KH: 7-8 °dH
Calcium: 420 - 460 mg/l
Magnesium: 1300 - 1400 mg/l
How to make salt water!
First, you need osmosis water, which ideally comes from an osmosis system with a downstream ultrapure water filter (mixed bed resin). Pour as much water as you need into a barrel, bucket or similar. A small flow pump ensures the necessary water movement in the container. Now weigh the sea salt and add it to the osmosis water. To achieve a density of 1.022 - 1.024 at 25°C, you need about 40 g of Coralaxy sea salt per liter. Now you have to wait until the salt is completely dissolved. As soon as the water is completely clear, you can use it to fill or change the water in your aquarium. In any case, check the salt content again beforehand (e.g. hydrometer, refractometer) and adjust the temperature if necessary using a heating rod.
Coral Guardian
By purchasing our own brand products, you support reef protection in Indonesia and the Mediterranean.
By building an own brand, one can generally generate higher margins. We pass on a portion of our sales to the non-profit environmental protection organization Coral Guardian. Because as reef hobbiests and divers, protecting the oceans is particularly important to us. This contribution is not intended to be greenwashing, but is simply a way of promoting and supporting environmental projects that would otherwise have difficulty obtaining the necessary financial resources.
