Acanthastrea corals

Acanthastrea corals are classified as LPS corals and have large and often fleshy polyps. They occur in a variety of different colors and are very popular in saltwater aquariums. They feel comfortable under moderate and blue lighting in reef tanks. Occasional feeding at night will promote their growth.

Acanthastrea aka Micromussa aka Homophyllia

Some species of the Acanthastrea group are now taxonomically classified as Micromussa or Homophyllia. Since Acanthastrea is still the most common name in the reef hobby, we also continue to use it as a synonym.

WYSIWYG Corals

With the What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get principle (WYSIWYG), coral frags are photographed individually and the images are then uploaded to the shop. Although you only see the corals on screen before you buy them, the WYSIWYG principle gives you a very good idea of what they will look like in your reef tank later on. Once you have decided on a particular coral, you will receive exactly the animal you have chosen.
