Pocillopora corals

Representatives of this genus belong to the more robust SPS corals and are therefore well suited for the first steps in stony coral keeping. Pocillopora corals grow branched and come in many different colors. The coloration of these corals is strongly related to light intensity and nutrient availability and can vary considerably. Therefore Pocillopora are also good indicators if the conditions in the aquarium have changed.

Pocillopora damicornis is very adaptable

Even though the best results in growth and colors are achieved under moderate to strong lighting, Pocillopora damicornis is quite capable of adapting to weaker light intensities. As long as there is a good flow, you do not necessarily have to place this coral at the top of the reef structure.

Traumhaft
