More Information
Caulerpa algae, also known colloquially as creeping algae, are green algae with root-like rhizomes that they use to attach themselves to the substrate. They are very popular in marine aquariums because they are easy to keep, have few environmental requirements and grow quickly.
Keeping Caulerpa prolifera
Caulerpa prolifera can grow up to 15 cm tall. Although it is less common with Caulerpa prolifera than with related species, if the population grows too densely, it can suddenly collapse. It is therefore important that you regularly thin out the macroalgae. Avoid direct contact with corals, as Caulerpa can inhibit their growth. We recommend this algae primarily for algae refugia or macroalgae aquariums.
