Chaetomorphais one of the fast-growing algae. When harvested regularly, excess nutrients are exported, thus improving water quality.

In contrast to some other macroalgae,Chaetomorphano risk of spore formation.

Chaetomorpha algae, also known colloquially as wire algae, grow freely in the water and do not attach themselves to stones or other substrates. This property makes them very popular in marine aquariums.

Keeping Chaetomorpha

Chaetopmorpha usually grow into curly balls (similar to green steel wool). If the growth is strong, it is important that you regularly thin out the macro algae. This way you ensure that the algae still get enough light. We also recommend this algae for reef tanks.
