Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Balance

Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Balance contains organic and inorganic nutrients. It stimulates the microbiology in the aquarium and ensures the increased incorporation of nutrients into additional biomass. Nitrates and phosphates are gently reduced in this way, but also stabilized at a low level.

Signs of high nutrient levels

In addition to the measured phosphate and nitrate values, darkened corals or increased algae growth in the tank and on the panes indicate that nutrient values ​​are too high. When assessing "too high", the ratio of nitrate to phosphate must also be taken into account. This should ideally be 100:1, for example 5 mg/l nitrate and 0.05 mg/l phosphate. An unfavorable ratio can often have a more negative effect than increased values ​​in the correct ratio. Therefore, always assess the nutrient values ​​in relation to one another and in connection with the appearance and behavior of your animals in the aquarium.

Ideally, dose the concentrate at the beginning of the lighting phase. Increased bacterial growth can lead to increased oxygen consumption - so dose very conservatively or aerate the aquarium additionally.
