More Information
Highly concentrated phytoplankton substitute. Supplies your corals with amino acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids and vitamins. In contrast to fresh phytoplankton, it has a long shelf life.
Do corals need food?
Not directly. Thanks to the many single-celled algae (= zooxanthellae) that are embedded in the coral tissue, corals can feed indirectly from light. The symbiotic algae release various sugars to the coral that they produce during photosynthesis. The algae, in turn, need nutrients to maintain their metabolism. They can get these from the excretions of the reef fish in your aquarium, for example. It is therefore not possible to survive without nutrients.
Why feeding corals in the aquarium is important
To ensure that your corals look beautifully colorful, stay healthy and, above all, grow, you should feed them. Regular feeding means that fewer symbiotic algae are deposited in the tissue. This makes the coral appear more colorful because the color pigments are more visible. It has also been proven that corals that are fed additionally are less susceptible to bleaching or other diseases. They also have more energy available for growth.
Application and dosage of Phytonic
Shake the bottle vigorously before use. Start with a dosage of 0.1 ml per 100 liters of aquarium water and increase this slowly as needed up to a maximum dosage of 0.5 ml per 100 liters of aquarium water per day. To distribute the food well in the aquarium, you can simply put it in the area of the circulation pump. Always store the bottle in a cool, dark place - this will extend its shelf life.
