More Information

Reef Snow contains biopolymers that mimic the natural particle formation found in coral reefs. Suspended nutrients attach themselves to the particles and can be more easily absorbed by your corals in the form of flakes. At the same time, water quality is improved.

Why feeding corals in the aquarium is important

To ensure that your corals look beautifully colorful, stay healthy and, above all, grow, you should feed them. Regular feeding means that fewer symbiotic algae are deposited in the tissue. This makes the coral appear more colorful because the color pigments are more visible. It has also been proven that corals that are fed additionally are less susceptible to bleaching or other diseases. They also have more energy available for growth.

Reef Snow imitates natural sea snow. But what is it anyway?

Marine snow refers to accumulations of suspended organic material. In coral reefs, marine snow can consist of the remains of dead organisms including animals, plants, algae, coral mucus (which harbors bacteria), feces, and other material.

Using Reef Snow

First, prepare a stock solution. To do this, stir Reef Snow into osmosis water (e.g. 1.5 measuring spoons of Reef Snow in 100 ml) and let everything swell for 2 hours (stir occasionally). This stock solution will last for about 2 weeks.

To feed your corals, mix the desired amount of food such as Zooton or Phyton into part of the stock solution and let it all swell for another half hour. Finally, put the mix in a well-circulated area of your aquarium.
