Tropic Marin Amino-Organic

Art.Nr. 52-002-25104

Amino acids for an efficient nitrogen supply of your corals.

Amino-Organic contains minerals and amino acids in a dissolved form. These organic compounds are rich in nitrogen and immediately available to corals when added to the aquarium. In addition, amino acids trigger a feeding response and cause coral polyps to open up.

Ideal for:

  • reef tanks with low nitrogen input (e.g. with low fish stocking)
  • aquariums with slightly increased phosphate
  • improved feed intake by corals

Adding amino acids to my reef tank - what for?

Amino Aacids are among the fundamental components of all living organisms. Some amino acids are essential, i.e. they must be actively absorbed through food. Amino acids cannot be retained by organisms as such. A regular supply is therefore very important. A deficiency leads to a breakdown of tissue. Corals that are well supplied with amino acids show a very strong tissue texture as well as a beautiful polyp extension.

Amino acids as a food trigger for corals

The use of Amino-Organic is ideal in combination with particulate coral food, because the amino acids act as a chemical signal and ensure that coral polyps will open up. Food particles can thus be better absorbed. Start adding food about 10 minutes after the amino acid dosage so that the corals have enough time to react.

When does the addition of amino acids not make sense?

Since not only corals but also bacteria and protozoa can absorb dissolved amino acids very well, the addition of Amino-Organic does not make sense if there is an existing problem with cyanobacteria and/or dinoflagellates. In contrast, the addition could even promote further spreading. Furthermore, the supplementation of Amino-Organic is not recommended at very low phosphate levels (<0.03 mg/l), because the compounds contain carbon residues, which in turn cause a nutrient reduction. If your aquarium is still in the initial phase or if you lack a skimmer, you could provoke a bacterial bloom by the addition of Amino-Organic. In these cases do not use it.

It is recommended and very safe to use Amino-Organic in reef tanks with slightly elevated phosphate levels and a dense coral population.

Application and dosage of Amino-Organic

Dose a maximum of 5 ml Amino-Organic per 200 liters of aquarium water daily.
