Tropic Marin Reef Snow

Art.Nr. 52-002-24722

To form valuable coral food.

Reef Snow contains biopolymers that mimic the natural particle formation found in coral reefs. Suspended nutrients attach to the particles and can be more easily absorbed by your corals in the form of flakes. At the same time, the water quality is improved.

Reef snow:

  • improves nutrient availabilty for corals
  • reduces the nutrient load in the water
  • keeps food in the water column

Supplementary feed. Perfect in combination with Zooton or Phyton.

The importance of feeding corals in your aquarium

In order for your corals to look colorful, be healthy and keep growing, you should feed them. Regular feeding means that less symbiotic algae are incorporated into the tissue. The coral looks more colourful because the pigments are more visible. Furthermore, it has been proven that directly fed corals are less susceptible to bleaching or other diseases. They will also have more energy to grow.

Reef Snow imitates natural marine snow. But what is that anyway?

Marine snow refers to the accumulations of suspended organic material. In coral reefs, marine snow can consist of the remains of dead organisms including animals, plants, algae, coral mucus (which harbors bacteria), fecal matter and other material.

Application of Reef Snow

First, prepare a stock solution. Stir Reef Snow into osmosis water (e.g. 1.5 dosing spoons of Reef Snow in 100 ml) and let it swell for 2 hours (stirring from time to time). This storage solution can be kept for about 2 weeks.

To feed your corals, mix the desired amount of food like Zooton or Phyton into a part of the stock solution and let everything swell again for half an hour. Finally, add the mix to your reef tank at an area with high flow.
